Frequently asked questions.

1. What types of photography do you provide?

I specialize in maternity, newborn, children, families, high school and college seniors.  When my schedule permits, I love to capture a sweet and intimate wedding!  If you have additional services that are needed, please reach out.  I am always willing to discuss your needs on a case-by-case basis.

2. Why should I hire you as my photographer?

Hiring a professional photographer is definitely an investment, but it’s well worth it to get the images you want from your photo session. As a professional photographer, I am passionate about photography, and it shows in my work. My professional equipment will ensure that everything is captured beautifully while professional lighting equipment will make sure you don’t have any shadows or dark spots on your photos. I also know how to take advantage of the best light and angles for your photos, so you’ll end up with beautiful images that you’ll cherish forever.  I use professional editing software to make sure your photos look professional, as well. A professional photographer knows how to get all of the important moments.

No one wants to miss out on precious memories because they were stuck taking photos with a timer or trying not to get caught when someone else uses their phone to take a photo.  As a professional photographer, I know how to work fast and efficiently to make sure that no moment is missed. Part of the investment in my professional photography services includes the time and skill I put into editing your images. The best photographers don’t just know about lighting and setting up an image—they also know how to edit a dark or so-so photo into something gorgeous and impressive. The amount of time to edit photos is the same or greater than the amount of time taking the photos.  I have professional editing software that goes above and beyond what you can do on your phone or computer, plus the skills to know how to bring your photos to vibrant life.

As your professional photographer, I simply have a creative eye that allows me to capture unique and beautiful photos. I know how to pose couples and families in a way that is natural and elegant, and can find the best light and angles to make your photos look amazing. When you choose me as your professional photographer, you’re not just getting someone who has better equipment—you’re getting someone who knows how to use their equipment to create stunning images that will last a lifetime.

Since newborn photography can be quite challenging, it requires a trained professional photographer who has mastery over safety lighting, wrapping, posing, and soothing newborns. Further, safety is the key priority in newborn photography, as the main subject is quite delicate. I have had extensive training in newborn photography, how to handle babies so that they are safe and secure, and am CPR and First Aid Certified.

I have over 30 years experience with cameras and over 10 years experience producing high quality images for my clients.  Be sure to read all of the amazing reviews on my website.

3. Are deposits refundable?

When you schedule a session with Snapbean Photography, you are invoiced for a $100 non-refundable and non-transferable retainer that is due upon receipt of your invoice. No one likes a cancellation, but sometimes things happen. In certain circumstances as the studio deems appropriate (on a case-by-case basis), the session may be rescheduled with a $50 reschedule fee that is due at the time the session is rescheduled.

4. When will we get our finished prints?

After your session, you will receive a proofing gallery within 6-8 business days where you will be able to choose the images that are included in your gallery, and any additional you would like.  When your proofing gallery is return to the studio, it will be placed in the editing que and editing according to when it was received by the studio. Clients receive their final edited gallery 15-18 business days after the date their proofing gallery was returned to the studio.

5. Do you include digital images?

Snapbean Photography typically includes digital images with each session.  Clients may elect to purchase additional images from any session.  However, there are sessions that a sitting fee is paid and digital images are purchased in addition to the session fee.

6. How much are your photography services?

All Snapbean Photography sessions are based on a starting point and those are all listed on the website under each category.  Feel free to contact me if you need additional information on your specific session.

7. What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

When Snapbean Photography schedules your session, you are paying a non-refundable and non-transferable scheduling/session fee.  The studio has set aside a specific date and time for your session and does not make any other reservations or accept any other clients for that said date and time.

As a result, in the event that the client cancels the session or does not show up for the session, for any reason, the non-refundable and non-transferable scheduling/session fee paid by the client shall be retained by Snapbean Photography in order to offset its loss of business from not being able to take on any other clients for the scheduled session by contracted client.  It further  compensates the photographer and studio for their time and expenses related to booking the session and the loss of business if a client cancels or does not show up for their session.

8. How long will our session take?

What clients LOVE most about Snapbean Photography is the short amount of time it takes for the photographer to capture a large amount of images from their session.  Dads often remark that they didn’t know it was going to be this easy and quick!  Of course, each session is different depending on what type of session I am photographing, so be sure to discuss that with me or ask any questions about your session.

9. Do you backup or otherwise secure images for protection?

Your final images that are contained in your final gallery are backed up in a program that I pay for each year.  The company maintains those images for 10 years.  Once you receive your final gallery, you have 7 days to download them securely to your computer.  There is a $25 reload fee after the 7 days expires.

10. Do I get the copyright/ownership of my photos?

When you receive your final gallery, you will download your images and then print your images accordingly.  I, as your professional photographer, always own the copyright to those images, but you have print rights to those images.  You can print your images from your gallery with my professional lab and they will be delivered right to your home.  If you choose to print elsewhere, Snapbean Photography does not guarantee any work outside of their professional print lab.
